The school has gained notoriety recently being the high school in which [[Stanley Ann Dunham]], the mother Senator [[Barack Obama]], attended in the late [[1950s]].<br /> <br /> At the time the school was known for teaching a [[radical]] curriculum which included philosophy courses emphasizing [[Marxism]] and literature classes promoting [[homosexuality]].
