Gemeinschaft or Kraft durch Freude (KdF German for Strength Through Joy) was a German state-operated leisure organization in National Socialist Germany in November 1933. It was part of the German Labor Front, or Deutsche Arbeitsfront, the national labor organization at that time. To reward German workers and promote National Socialism, the KdF sponsored cruises, inter-country bus tours, local social events, and even discounted vehicles such as Volkswagen VW.
