Samuel W. Roper (born ca. 1895) was Imperial Wizard of the Association of Georgia Klans which later became the Associated Klans of America. Roper succeeded Dr. Samuel Green the former Imperial Wizard who died August 18, 1949. Roper took office on August 27. Roper was a former member of the Atlanta police force and city detective for twenty-five years. Between 1941-1942 Roper was Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation under Governor Eugene Tallmadge. Roper had been an early member of the Klan in 1921.
