Chile is a country in South America, occupying large swaths of its Western Coast.
Physical Geography
Chile covers around 756.096 square kilometers (291.930 square miles) and has a rough "I" shape; it has around 78.563 kilometeres of coastline, cutting off Bolivia's sea access.
It is characterized by a variety of climate areas, among which a largely desert section in the North - dominated by the Atacama Desert -, a mediterranean-like area in the Center, where there are also the main urban settlements, like the Capital, a colder but still Europe-like section in the South and a largely cold and mountainous area in the Inland and deep South.
Demographics
Around 60% of the population is considered to be of European origins, 35% of mixed Amerindian/European ancestry (Mutt/Mestizo) and close to 5% of the population is fully Amerindian[1].
Its total population is close to 20 million though it is expected to start decreasing as fertility rates continue declining[2].
