The term East Germany may refer to:
- German Eastern Territories (officially until occupation in 1945)
- German Democratic Republic (1949 to 1990)
- The "new federal states" of Germany (die neuen Bundeslรคnder), the five re-established states of the former GDR (historically "Middle Germany") that unified with the Federal Republic of Germany with its 10 "old federal states" upon German partial reunification on 3 October 1990
