A graduate of the University of California (B.A.) and the University of Southern California (M.A.), he is a specialist of European history and literature. Despite this, he learned Italian.[2]
Granata became a friend and translator of the Italian Holohoax revisionist Carlo Mattogno. He also started his own small publishing company, Granata Publishing.[2]
