Idealism has been a prominent philosophical view in Indian Buddhist thought since tbe fourth century AD. It was a topic of considerable debate for centuries amongst Buddhist and non-Buddhist philosophers in India and Tibet. It also had a significant influence on tbe intellectual culture of China and Japan.
